The South Caucasus Railways (SCR) is considering rebranding  in 2011, company’s General Director Shevket Shaydulin said at today’s press conference.

The choice of a new brand is conditioned by the fact that SCR considers itself a “national carrier”.  It was proposed to add the word ‘Armenia’ to “Russian Railways”, but it contradicts the idea of “national carrier”, Shaydulin added. An experienced company was invited to conduct the rebranding.

According to SCE Director General, rebranding will contribute to integration of the Armenian railways in international agencies. In particular, the SCR will return to international railway organization and join relevant organizations of the EU and the Union of Black Sea.
