YEREVAN. – As of May, the people’s deposits in Armenia’s banks have increased by 21.6% percent, over the course of two years.

As a result, the ratio of foreign currency deposits in the country’s banks has increased by 3.2 percentage points and reached 71 percent.

But we need to consider that, in the respective official information, the amount of foreign currency deposits is presented in Armenian drams.

So if we do an opposite recount, the US dollar (USD) “picture” changes somewhat because of the strengthening of this currency. And if we calculate in USD, we will see that the foreign currency deposits in Armenia’s banks have increased by 10% percent in the specified period.
