YEREVAN. – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia, Vache Gabrielyan, agrees that if there are facts, corrupt officials should be put on the street.

When asked Friday by reporters whether it is true that the Armenian government does not wish to see corrupt officials on the street, he gave a negative response.

“If there are facts, then, naturally, corrupt officials need to be put on the street,” said Gabrielyan. “When it comes to the fight against corruption, there are two sides. First, people want to see officials on the street, and [second,] there are systemic approaches which eliminate the opportunities for corruption. The government aims to systemic solutions, [corresponding] works are being carried out, [and] there is progress.”
