The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is unable to refute the fact this country’s policy is characteristic of a terrorist, Armenian Foreign Office Press Secretary Tigran Balayan told NEWS.am, commenting on Azerbaijan’s statement on the Armenian shepherd’s death.

“Mr. Polukhov’s forlorn efforts and absurd statements to find an excuse for Manvel Saribekyan’s brutal murder are conditioned by the fact that the organizers of pogroms of innocent Armenian population in Sumgait, Baku, Kirovabad and other settlements of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh remained unpunished. After Azerbaijan declared independence, those criminals, put into prison in Azerbaijan, were released, awarded with title of national heroes and set on a pedestal.

Filled with enthusiasm, the Azerbaijani authorities perpetrated ethnic cleansings, with the help of the international terrorist organizations and launched a large-scale aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.

Today Azerbaijan is unpunished and that is the reason it keeps on planning and committing new crimes,” Balayan stressed.
