President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ordered to carry out patrol flights in the skies of Turkey.

F-16 fighter planes will conduct these flights to ensure surveillance and security in the country, according to Anadolu news agency of Turkey.

Turkish police have arrested more than 6,000 people, including high- and mid-ranking military officers, in connection with the recent military coup attempt in the country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Turkey, a total of 290 people died as a result of this coup attempt.

Turkish authorities accuse opposition Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen—who currently lives in the US—of orchestrating this unrest in Turkey, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
