France's National Assembly has extended the state of emergency for six months due to a terrorist threat in the country, BBC reported.

It is noted that state of emergency in the country will be valid till the end of January, 2017.

Earlier, at the French Ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy’s Republican party it was offered to extend the state of emergency  for six months at once, insisted on carrying out of administrative searches with the seizure of computers, mobile phones and other data carriers for their study.

The last major terrorist attack in France occurred on July 14 during the celebration of Bastille Day in Nice. A truck had ploughed into crowd at a high speed killing 84 people, including 38 foreigners, one of the Armenian, on the Promenade des Anglais.
