Russian Defense Ministry said military personnel who were onboard the Russian Mi-8 helicopter which had been brought down in Syria, were killed, Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated, TASS reported.

He noted that Mi-8 which was carrying out humanitarian mission has been hit from the earth. He also added that the Kremlin deeply condole with all families.

Earlier the Ministry of Defense declared that the Russian military Mi-8 helicopter was hit on Monday, August 1, in the Syrian province of Idlib. The machine was fired from the earth when it came back to air base Hmeymim after delivery of humanitarian aid to the city of Aleppo.
