YEREVAN. -- After settling sitaution with the seizure of police regiment, a new wave of public discontent may arise in connection with the increase in electricity rate, head of Armenian NGO said.

Karen Chilingaryan believes that social problems and inflation led to uprising by “Sasna Tsrer” group.

“If the authorities want to rule out repeatition of similiar situation, they have to display flexible approach to electricity rates,” he said.

The deadline for government-provided subsidies for electricity expired on August 1, 2016.
