YEREVAN. - CivilNet has published the recording of the negotiations between Sasna Tsrer group members and Karabakh MP Vitaly Balasanyan on laying down the arms. According to the source, the conversation took place on July 29.
Earlier, Armenia’s Founding Parliament member Garegin Chookaszian had promised to release that recording if the promised meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and Founding Parliament leader Jirair Sefilian didn’t take place by 6:00 p.m Thursday.
At the same time, Chookaszian posted on his Facebook page the interview given to Radio Liberty, in which he specifically said that he leaves the future actions on Vitali Balasanyan’s conscious, since it was the latter who guaranteed the implementation of the conditions of laying down the arms, including the exclusion of torture and Serzh Sargsyan’s meeting with Jirair Sefilian.
Chookaszian raised several issues on why exactly Vitaly Balasanyan was chosen by the authorities as a negotiator.
“Who was interested in defaming Vitaly Balasanyan in the final stage of the Artsakh issue settlement? How did this recording appear at our disposal? Who is interested in bringing against each other and mutually neutralizing the Artsakh and Republic of Armenia forces, which oppose the surrender of lands?” he wrote.
In Chookaszian’s words, larger Sasna Tsrer Mass Movement has been formed, whose demands are the following:
• Exclusion of tortures against the political prisoners
• Setting free the political prisoners
• Abandoning defeatist political position adopted with regard to Artsakh issue
• Immediate launch of political dialogue and changes
• Formation of national transitional confidence government
• Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation
• Snap elections
