Russia would have supported the Turkish authorities after the military coup attempt even if President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had not offered apologies, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated.
According to him, Russia welcomed the steps taken by President Erdogan and the entire Turkish leadership aimed at mending our bilateral relations, TASS reported quoting Mezhdunarodnaya Zhizn.
“In the proper sense of the word, we embarked on restoring relations, without losing a single day. Such countries as Russia and Turkey, the immediate neighbors influencing numerous processes, simply cannot miss the chance to build relations in a positive manner.”
