YEREVAN. - Currently Armenia cannot have serious perspectives for economic development; I say this considering the manufacturing capacities of our country, which are limited to agriculture, and bad economic situation in Russia, Doctor of Economics Karen Adonts told Armenian News – NEWS.am.   

He also stressed that the traditional directions of export to Russia are also under threat now in the context of the launched process of rapprochement between Moscow and Ankara.

In the expert’s words, overall it is possible to maintain certain sectors – the traditional beverages or process goods - but with varying capacities.  This depends on the condition of the Russian market. But the rapprochement process launched between Russia and Turkey can close these opportunities as well. “The doors of the agricultural and process goods, as well as textile market can again open before Turkey. And this limits Armenia’s capacities,” the economist said.
