YEREVAN. – The Azerbaijan authorities have formally notified the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in capital city Baku that a man had crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

“We will take appropriate steps within the limits of our mandate,” the ICRC delegation in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As reported earlier, Henrik Aghekyan, 61, a resident of Aygepat village in the Ararat Province of Armenia, had crossed the border and found himself on the Azerbaijani side.

According to some information, Aghekyan is located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exclave of Azerbaijan.

Henrik Aghekyan has mental disorders, and he often went missing from home. This time he had left his house a week ago, and had not returned.
