Leader of Strong Turkey Party (GTP) Tuna Beklevic stated they did not intend to provoke a quarrel between the Russian border guards and Armenia while crossing the Armenia-Turkey border.
According to him, Turkish politicians crossed the border across the River Araks and entered the Armenian territory as a sign of protest to the border remaining closed, despite the fact that a year has passed since the Armenia-Turkey protocols were signed, Turkish Akifhaber website reports.
“Russian border guard Andrey Guzeev confirmed we crossed the border. Certainly, we did. There are photos confirming we crossed the border. It will be good if the border is open next time and we drink tea together. Armenian press was concerned over our border crossing, but there was no reason to be worried. We are for peace and brotherhood, Beklevic said.
As reported previously, the Turkish mass media disseminated the information; Leader of Strong Turkey Party (GTP) Tuna Beklevic with his party fellows crossed the Armenia-Turkey border along the River Araks and entered Armenia.
“No one crossed Armenian-Turkish border. If someone tried we would interfere,” Deputy Chief of Border Service, Russian Federal Security Service, Colonel Andrey Guzeyev told NEWS.am.
