YEREVAN. - Many citizens of Armenia, including the representatives of small and medium business, constantly raised the issue that during import and export they have to make payments, which, as a rule, for several times exceed the cost of the goods themselves.

Armenian Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan said the aforementioned after the subsequent meeting with journalists on Thursday, touching on the draft bill on making amendments and changes to the law on customs regulation.

For instance, if the citizens imported catalogues, which cost 5000 AMD, they had to pay 6000 AMD as a customs fee, the Minister said.  “Apart from this, they had to make a number of other payments, including payment for the services of the customs representative or the so-called dealer, ranging between 10-15 AMD,” Minasyan noted.

Under the decision of the Armenian Government adopted on Tuesday, the consignments of less than 200 euro will be exempted from customs fees.
