YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Wednesday sent condolences to President Sergio Mattarella of Italy.

Sargsyan extended his commiseration in connection with the devastating earthquake that hit Italy, and which claimed dozens of lives and caused great destruction.

“I extend deepest condolences and support to you, [and] families of the dead and affected, wishing fortitude and stamina of the spirit.

“We pray for the health of the injured, and wish them speedy recovery.

“Our hearts and thoughts are with the people of friendly Italy,” the Armenian President’s message of condolence reads, in particular.

According to the latest data, 37 people were killed when a powerful earthquake hit central Italy.
