YEREVAN. - The export of tomatoes from Armenia grew several times in the first quarter of 2016.

If in the first quarter of 2015, the export constituted 724g amounting to $1,03 mln, that figure grew up to $19.75 mln for 30,246 tons for the first quarter of 2016, reads the report of the Customs Service of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC).

99 out of each 100 tomatoes were bought by Russia, who has been the main purchaser of the Armenian agriculture products for many years. The export to Russia made up 30,046 tons amounting to nearly $19.7 mln.
