The Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia received a call via hot line on the presence of a several dozen meter fishing net in Yerevan Lake, which hindered the activities of rowing athletes, often endangering their life.

On the same day, the Ministry workers visited the scene and found the 400 m fishing net used for stealing fish in the central part of Yerevan Lake.

The Ministry of Nature Protection turned to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for support in removing the net.

Thanks to the efforts of the workers of the Nature Protection and Emergency Situation Ministries, as well as Armenian police, the net was removed from the lake.  30 Crucian carps were seized on the ground, being released into the lake.  

The corresponding record drawn out on the incident has been filed with law enforcement authorities.
