The French Treasury has proposed to define taxes on fast food to fight against obesity and reimburse a part of the costs for the medical assistance being served to the overweight, reports the  RIA Novosti, referring to the radio station Europe 1. Taxation is recommended to be defined depending on the nutritional values and calories of products. 

According to Europe 1, calculations made by the Treasury are very simple.  24.6 million French people are overweight and are prone to diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. The state annually spends about $ 22.7 billion for their care, sick leave, and disability. There are already defined taxes on sugar containing energy drinks in France.
