YEREVAN. – There still are unused potential and prospects for cooperation between Armenia and Iran; and in this regard, it is important  to take practical steps to intensify bilateral economic ties.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia, Davit Lokyan, noted the above-said at his talk Wednesday with Iranian Ambassador Seyed Kazzem Sajjadi.

The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Artsvik Minasyan, also attended this meeting.

Lokyan underscored the possibility of cooperation in tourism, especially in rural tourism. He expressed confidence that Armenia’s cooperation in this format will be successful also with Iran.

Ambassador Sajjadi, for his part, welcomed this proposal, and noted that the Iranian provinces can play a major role in the implementation of similar projects. In his words, the taking of bilateral practical steps can contribute to the development of tourism, in both Armenia and Iran.

The interlocutors also discussed the avenues for cooperation in health care, development of trade and economic relations, as well as Armenian producers’ and manufacturers’ participation in the forthcoming exhibition to be held in Iran.
