The UN urges to allocate $ 150 million for financing humanitarian activities in Afghanistan during the following 4 months. The appeal was made by the UN Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Stephen O'Brien during a press conference in Kabul.
According to him, the Afghan people suffer incredible hardship. The number of victims of internal displacement in the country is growing. The hospitals of Afghanistan are overcrowded, and many children have no possibility to go to school.
He said that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating . There are more than 1 million people internally displaced . This year that number increased by 245 thousand. According to Stephen O'Brien, 100 thousands of Afghan have no IDs. 3 million residents of the country's never seek a medical care and 2.7 million suffer from malnutrition .
