YEREVAN. – The Republic of Armenia (RA) authorities are planning to hold a large military parade on September 21, the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence, according to Zhoghovurd newspaper.

“Zhoghovurd has learned that this military parade will be unprecedentedly large in its scale.

“During this military parade, the RA Ministry of Defense has been tasked with displaying the entire capacity of the Armed Forces of Armenia. Zhoghovurd has learned that about ten thousand soldiers, whose military units have begun to prepare for the parade a month ago—since early August, will take part in the military parade.

“It is believed that if the military parade is successful, it can play a deterrent role for the enemies of Armenia. Everyone realizes that, after the four-day war in [early] April[, which Azerbaijan had unleashed against Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh)], this military parade has a special importance to Armenia,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
