YEREVAN. - The Armenian Government of national accord will most likely include those political forces which are for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Director of the Armenian Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation (ACGRC) Stepan Grigoryan told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

“The key question is whether the previous policy will change together with the new prime minister. That is, will Armenia stop treating the cooperation with EAEU and Russia one-sidedly? This policy will not change even if different political forces enter the coalition. Those will be the forces which voted in the parliament for joining the Eurasian Union. Therefore, the change of the prime minister won’t change the foreign policy vector either,’ Grigoryan said.

But, according to Grigoryan, the situation will be different if the Government includes forces, which are for the European Union.  “But that is almost unlikely,” he added.

One can be sure that the new PM Karen Karapetyan will include opposition forces in the Government as well, but only those who are for the EAEU, the political analyst stressed.

At the end of Thursday’s Cabinet session, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan announced his resignation. He will be replaced by the former mayor of capital city Yerevan and former general director of ArmRosGazprom natural gas company Karen Karapetyan.
