YEREVAN. – A fatal traffic accident occurred Saturday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

At 5:10am, the 34-year-old driver of a car struck a pedestrian, a 68-year-old man, the Police informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The pedestrian was crossing the street from a permitted section, according to Shamshyan.com. The driver, V. Kirakosyan, works at Yerevan Police as a commanding officer, he is a Police Major, and he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
