U.S. does not put pressure on Turkey to host elements of the missile defense, stated U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, ITAR-TASS reports.
Earlier, quoting Turkish diplomats, Turkish press reported U.S. is “putting pressure on Turkey,” to deploy elements of the missile defense, the planned missile defense screen.
“We are not putting pressure on the Turks, but we are having continuing conversations with them as one of our allies,” Gates stressed.
