The installation of plastic greenhouses has been launched in Tavush province of Armenia, the project being supported by a grant from Russia.

Trade Representative of Russia to Armenia Andrey Babko told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

The project is implemented by UNDP’s “Integrated Support to Rural Development: Building Resilient Communities” project.  Overall, several dozens of small greenhouses with a surface of 60 to 130 cubic meters should be installed. Considering that without heating they will be able to work only from spring to fall, the trade representation is preparing recommendations for the greenhouse workers on installing heating boilers of Russian production, which will work with pellets.

The pellets can be produced also locally and from any biomass, including agricultural waste, which will find useful application.

The UNDP “Integrated Support to Rural Development: Building Resilient Communities” project is financed by the Government of Russia ($5 mln).
