YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) of Armenia voting on the Prosecutor General candidate will be held Thursday. 

The parliamentary factions have already made statements on their respective vote.

Accordingly, the opposition Armenian National Congress has decided to boycott the election.

The opposition Prosperous Armenia has also decided not to participate in the voting.

Opposition Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Faction Secretary Hovhannes Margaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that their members will vote liberally, at their discretion.

The ruling Republican Party of Armenia and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Factions, on the other hand, will vote in favor of the nominee.  

The opposition Consolidation Party, however, has made no decision yet.

And Zaruhi Postanjyan of the opposition Heritage will vote against.

Deputy Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan has been nominated as the next Prosecutor General of Armenia.
