YEREVAN. - The economy of Armenia cannot develop without a struggle against the shadow turnover.

Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan stated the aforementioned in the parliament on Wednesday, responding to the question of MP Khachatur Kokobelyan.

“Can Armenia’s economy perpetuate itself without a struggle against the shadow economy? No. Will we try this? Yes. Will we succeed? We’ll see. Are we disposed to it? Very decisively. It cannot be otherwise.  As to the monopolies, it is necessary to find out the reasons behind their emergence. They are not always bad in themselves: Armenia’s market is not big, and one company can become a monopoly in a certain market thanks to its successful work,” the PM noted.
