The incident involving a young man killing a cat by stepping on its head in Izmir,
has received a great response in Turkey.

The argument is that a fine of $450 to Ufuk Gyunaydynu, who killed the cat, does not prevent further repetition of such cruelty to animals,Turkish newspaper Radikal reports.

Deputy of the opposition Republican People’s Party, Turgut Dibek has put this issue on the agenda of Parliament, demanding an explanation from the parliament and ministers.
