YEREVAN. – Armenia can become a bridge for Iranian businesses toward the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), said Robert Harutyunyan, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs of Armenia, at a press conference on Friday.

Harutyunyan stated this as he presented details on the Armenia Expo 2016 trade fair that will be held from October 5 to 8 in Tehran, the capital city of Iran.

Eighty industrial companies will participate in this event.

“The EAEU market is very appealing to Iranian companies,” added the deputy FM. “And Armenia, which is the immediate neighbor of Iran, can offer Iranian businessmen very good opportunities for entering the large [EAEU] market with a potentially high demand.”

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
