The Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, was decorated with the UAU Order of Holy Martyrs of Armenian Genocide on September 6 in the framework of the working visit of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine (UAU) delegation to Lviv.   

The order was haneded to the Mayor by the UAU Executive Director David Mkrtchyan, Analitikaua reports, citing Genocide.org.ua.

For his part, Mr Sadovyi noted: “Armenians have always lived, live and will live in Lviv. They are always welcome here.’’

Andriy Sadovyi had made a special address on occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The UAU Order of Holy Martyrs of Armenian Genocide was created in the framework of implementing the UAU program on preparing for the Armenian Genocide Centennial. The order has been named after the Armenian Genocide martyrsm who were canonized in the Holy See of Mother Etchmizadzin on 23 April 2015, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the tragic events in the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
