It is very important to maintain low tension on the Contact Line in the zone of the Karabakh conflict.

German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiessler told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am, touching on the recent statement by the OSCE Minsk Group U.S. Co-Chair James Warlick on that there is a risk of the Karabakh conflict escalation with the use of  all the existing heavy weaponry. 

In his words, it is necessary that both sides observe the ceasefire regime. “After the war in April, the tension has indeed reduced currently. But there is no illusion that this tension is disappearing. Thus, we think that it is very important to implement the measures on creating an atmosphere of trust, investigation mechanisms and monitoring on the Line of Contact with the support of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. I think more work should be done in this direction,” Kiessler noted.
