Political analyst: Russia compensated Armenia for arms supplies to Azerbaijan by Iskanders

The Armed forces of Armenia will for the first demonstrate the missile complex Iskander at the parade dedicated to the country’s 25^th anniversary.

Military expert Arkadi Grigoryan confirmed to Armenian News-NEWS.am that the complex has appeared among the weaponry prior to the rehearsal.

“The demonstration of Iskander is taking place for the first time in Armenia. Moreover, for the first time following the “cold-war” period, similar operative tactical complexes have been supplied by one country to another.” the expert stressed.

Commenting on the demonstration of the missile complexes, the Russian political analyst Alexander Khramchikhin noted that the indirect consequences of this step will be very strong. “This is a strong political step. Iskanders had not been exported so far. This is a political demonstration.”

Responding to the question, whether this demonstration is made by the Armenian or Russian authorities, Alexander Khramchikhin noted: “[It is made] by both of them. Russia compensated Armenia for the arms supplies to Azerbaijan.”

On September 21 Armenian marks the 25^th anniversary of its independence.
