YEREVAN. - The people in Armenia first of all need the most basic things: possibility to provide for their families and faith in justice.

Prosperous Armenia Party MP Mikayel Melkumyan said the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am, sharing with his observations in connection with the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

In his words, the independence is a key value for any state. This statement is not subject to discussion and the path covered by the Armenian people in the recent quarter of a century has been focused on the establishment of that basic value.  

“The people paid high price for that value, many of them sacrificing their lives. To be worth that enormous work and those victims, we must understand what we can do for our country and people. Big things have small beginnings. At some point it is merely necessary to give a look at the surrounding reality. People need salary to meet their basic household needs and feel dignified so that they are able to obtain everything they need and pay for their children’s education. And the second thing is the sense of justice and confidence in that the authorities listen to their opinion and respect the people’s will,” Melkumyan noted.  

On September 21 Armenia marks the 25th anniversary of its independence.
