Today, October 16, the Armenian nuclear-power plant (NPP) in Metsamor has been stopped for scheduled maintenance and refueling. The process will last for 55 days.

The necessary maintenance work and security and safety measures will be carried out. The new consignment of fuel has been delivered to Armenia.

On August 20, in Yerevan, an Armenian-Russian agreement on construction of a new NPP was signed following the Armenian-Russian presidential talks. A Russian-Armenian company, Metsamor Inter RAO, was formed to implement the construction project. The company will cover 40% of the project costs, with 60% to be attracted as investments.
