Roman Catholic archbishop Ruggero Franceschini openly accused radical nationalists and religious fanatics of implication in assassination of Bishop Luigi Padovese, vicar of Anatolia, Turkey.

According to RFE/RL, Franceschini made his statement in Vatican.

Catholic bishop Luigi Padovese was killed on June 3 by a driver who attacked him with a knife. The driver was arrested and an investigation was launched. The murder was committed a day before the vicar had to leave for Vatican to meet with Pope Benedict XVI.
