“Notorious” Strong Turkey Party (GTP) that got famous after statement on crossing the Armenian-Turkish border has introduced a new initiative – establishment of Society of Turkish-Armenian friendship.

According to Turkish media, party of Tuna Beklevic announced that the society is created on the occasion of anniversary of the Armenian-Turkish protocols signed in Zurich. The organization’s goal is to reconcile two countries and show their inseparability and significance for each other. According to GTP leader, organization already comprises 500 members.

On October 10, Turkish press reported that several Turkish politicians crossed the Armenia-Turkey border along the River Araks. Tuna Beklevic stated if the border remains closed till 2011, over 1000 Armenians and 1000 Turkish youths will cross the border this way. “We demand a positive response on the border opening from the Turkish and Armenian Governments,” the GDP leader said.

However, Russian Border Service informed NEWS.am that no one crossed Armenian-Turkish border.

Press service of the Border Service, Russian Federal Security Service, reported that following the Turkish media’s publications, additional investigation was conducted in the mentioned section of Armenia-Turkey state border. “The site investigation showed, the photos of Turkish politicians are taken on the Turkish side of the border in the region of ruins of Ani,” the press service said.
