Chief Editor of Real Azerbaijani newspaper Eynulla Fatullayev will start a hunger strike on October 19 in jail, Turan news agency reported.

This April the European Court of Human Rights made a judgment on immediate release of the journalist and compensation of € 28,000. Last week European court’s Grand Chamber approved the decision considering charges in threat of terrorism, stirring up of national and religious hatred and tax evasion unfounded. In 2007 Fatullayev was sentenced to 8.5 years’ imprisonment.

The Azerbaijani government tried to appeal against the European Court’s decision, but lost the case.
