YEREVAN. - The Armenian archive provides copies of socially important documents free of charge.

First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development, Vache Terteryan said the aforementioned on Monday at the debate on the amendments to the Law on Archiving.  

He recalled that the copies of the documents related to the social security of citizens are provided free of charge. This includes documents concerning duration of employment and other data needed for awarding pensions and benefits.

For other cases expenses are provided. But the archive hasn’t so far received complaints on too high payments.

“We are obliged to charge in order to cover the prime cost of the copies. But there are no complaints on this. Complaints, if any, refer to the speed of rendering the service rather than the payment. The thing is that in some cases it is impossible to find and provide the document with the speed required,” Terteryan said.
