YEREVAN. – At the end of the current year, the external debt Armenia will amount to 49 percent of the GDP, newly appointed Finance Minister Vardan Aramyan stated at a press conference on Tuesday.

As per Aramyan, at the end of 2016, the external debt of the Armenian government will amount to $4.4 billion, and the national debt of the Central Bank of Armenia will be $532 million.

In other words, the total external debt of Armenia will about $5 billion.

The minister added that, by the end of the current year, the internal debt of the country is expected to be approximately $934 million.

So, the total national debt will be $5.9 billion.

The ratio of external debt to the GDP will be about 49 percent, and the ratio of the total debt—54.4 percent.
