YEREVAN. - The political competition will henceforth be fair in Armenia.

Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also the spokesman for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said the aforementioned in the NA on Tuesday.

In his words, it is apparent that the local elections held on October 2 were competitive, the results being mainly expected. The competition between political ideas, and not interpersonal clashes, become the key thing in the political struggle, Sharmazanov noted.

“The rusty motto “nobody can stop us” isn’t ours but our party remains the most influential one. [Besides], new favorites have appeared in the opposition, which gives hope that the upcoming processes in the politics will be carried out under the sign of fair competition. This is the only way for the country to develop,” Sharmazanov said.
