YEREVAN. – There was just one objective for forming a new government in Armenia: to find new people, even if just for the fact that they are new; the former officials already were causing “allergy” among the public. 

Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan, stated the above-said at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, the Cabinet changes were necessary in Armenia, since the rating of the system of political power was very low in the country.

Iskandaryan noted, however, that the new government cannot solve the problems facing Armenia within six months—until the parliamentary election in April 2017.

“The [Armenian] public’s [respective] expectations are a fairy tale,” he added. “Even if we assume that we can achieve a ‘Switzerland’ from Armenia, this ‘Switzerland’ can be achieved in a long period of time; it’s impossible to turn Armenia into Switzerland in half a year.”
