YEREVAN. – The government members will receive more powers, but their accountability also will increase, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan stated at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, even though the government makes about 2,600 decisions per year, the ministers can resolve many of these matters through their own respective orders.

As per Karapetyan, the decisions, which the ministers are entitled to make, should be clearly defined.

“Governance should be decentralized,” added the PM. “Confidence [in the government] needs to be increased, and clear oversight [needs to be] established. We will follow the rules of the game.”
