The voter turnout during the parliamentary elections in Georgia constituted 42.05 percent as of 5:00 pm Saturday.

1 mln 477,562 people have voted so far, Sputnik-Georgia reports, citing the Central Electoral Commission.

The polling stations will work till 8:00 Tbilisi time. The elections will be considered valid regardless of the activeness of the voters.

Parliamentary elections are held in Georgia on Saturday. 100 deputies will be elected by proportional election system (through party lists), majority system being applied with regard to the other 50. The main struggle is between the coalition Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia, which has ruled for the last 4 years, and United National Movement of the ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.
