YEREVAN. – The forthcoming meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Security Council is very important for the organization, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin told reporters, on Thursday. 

To note, the said event will be held Friday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

“Every year there is a need to summarize the results, to outline new directions,” noted the ambassador. “The matter of election of the new [CSTO] secretary general is on the agenda of the meeting.”

The ambassador, however, lightheartedly responded to the attempts to find out the names of the candidates to the position of CSTO Secretary General.

“When they elect, they will inform you,” Volinkin stated. “Don’t worry. I believe the journalists will be the first to know about the new CSTO secretary general.”
