At the moment of the accident, the passengers of the bus heading from Moscow to Yerevan were all asleep; nobody saw anything.

One of the bus passengers transported to Yerevan from Vladikavkaz by plane, Ashot Khachatryan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

To the question on possible speeding, he noted: “I wouldn’t say that there was speeding.” Khachatryan added that the bus was in normal condition and only the driver could know what caused the accident.

According to him, the Russian side provided timely and adequate help to them in all issues.  

The Russian sources earlier informed that the accident most probably took place through the driver’s fault. The bus collided with a truck on the roadside. According to preliminary information, the bus had no braking path. Some experts tend to think that the driver might have fallen asleep at the steering wheel.

As reported earlier, a passenger bus, which was heading from Moscow to Yerevan, collided with a truck, on Friday at around 4:30am, on the Vladikavkaz-Beslan bypass. As a result, five people, including the bus driver were killed, and another 27 sustained injuries.
