Armenian President’s tough response to Azerbaijan is clear and natural, Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan said during Yerevan-Moscow-Tbilisi tele-bridge, the newspaper writes.
The daily recalls Serzh Sargsyan’s statement during meeting with journalists of the Armenian Diaspora, “Azerbaijan is the one who unleashed the war, and was the one defeated in that war; Azerbaijan was the one that asked for a truce (including from the Commander of Karabakh’s forces) and later started to sob about the dire repercussions of that war. As if wars ever bring pleasant repercussions. And on top of that, Azerbaijan adopted conceited stance and started to make demands as if anywhere in the world defeated aggressors are ever allowed to make demands”.
“Each statement has its form and content. Content of President’s words is not new. It is impossible to hold talks, not taking into account results of previous war,” the expert said.
According to him, Sargsyan’s speech was rather tough for obvious reasons. However, the expert deems that Azerbaijani harsh rhetoric is also understandable, as it is conditioned by November 7 elections in the country.
