YEREVAN. – A criminal case is launched into the death of conscript Vahagn Virabyan.

According to preliminary data, shots were fired, on Saturday at around 8:40am, in the direction of Private Virabyan, who was assigned to military watch at a combat position of an Armenian military unit. And these shots inflicted fatal gunshot wounds to the soldier, the Investigative Committee of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The General Military Investigation Department has opened a criminal case into this incident, and on charges of murder.

An investigation is underway.

Examinations have been commissioned. 

In addition, the firearm, with which shots were fired in the direction of this military servicemen, has been found, and it was determined as to whom it is registered.
