All Armenian roads will be fully equipped with modern devices: timers, traffic lights and cameras in 2011, Deputy Chief of the Armenian Police Hovhannes Hunanyan said, speaking in the Armenian Parliament.

According to him, technical equipment of the roads will be provided at the expense of off-budget funds spared by the police, in particular funds collected from fines for violating traffic rules. Overall AMD 2 bn spared by the police will be allocated for technical equipment. Hunanyan noted that 7-8 foreign companies are already competing for carrying out works on technical equipment of the Armenian roads.
