YEREVAN. – In 2017, major pressures are not expected in the currency market of Armenia.

The Minister of Finance, Vardan Aramyan, on Monday stated the aforesaid speaking at the National Assembly hearings on the draft state budget for next year.

“Such pressures are not observed in recent times on the currency market [of the country],” said the minister. “[And] we don’t expect such a thing also in 2017.”

The US dollar exchange rate against the Armenian national currency, the dram, is relatively stable so far in the current year.

In November and December of 2014, however, the dram depreciated by nearly 20 percent, against the American national currency.
