YEREVAN. – Armenia should be neither pro-Russia nor pro-Europe; it should be pro-Armenian.

Russian publicist Denis Dvornikov, who is also a member of Russian Association of International Law, on Monday stated the aforesaid at a press conference in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

In his words, the Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) conflict is the security matter of not solely the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries, but of entire Europe. 

“Impartiality needs to be maintained when covering this conflict, and to make sure to find a solution,” stressed Dvornikov. “There is a cultural and scientific blockade of the [NK] republic [(NKR)] [by Azerbaijan]. You know that certain statements are made [by Azerbaijan] after each visit [by foreigners] to the NKR; [these] people are ‘blacklisted’ [by Azerbaijan for visiting Karabakh], etc.” 

The Russian publicist also said it is indispensable to preserve the common cultural and linguistic area.

“It is possible to stop the blockade [i.e. by Azerbaijan] of cultural projects in Karabakh by every means, since this is also a security matter,” concluded the member of Russian Association of International Law.
